We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Revenues Services Officer to join our dedicated Revenues & Welfare Services team

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within local government while helping to deliver services that support residents, businesses and the wider community.

As a Revenues Services Officer, you will play an important role in delivering efficient and customer-focused revenues services. You will help administer Council Tax, Non-Domestic Rates and Sundry Debtor accounts, ensuring they are managed accurately and in accordance with legislation and council policies.

You will respond to enquiries from customers and colleagues, provide advice and guidance on revenues processes and procedures, issue documentation, and maintain accurate records across our revenues systems. You will also assess eligibility for discounts, exemptions and reliefs, process account amendments and support colleagues in delivering a high-quality service to our residents and businesses.

Relevant Experience
RequirementAssessmentCriteria
(E) (A/I) Experience of working in an office based environment
(E) (A/I) Experience of dealing with the public, either in person or by telephone
(E) (A/I) Computer/PC literate, with experience of using Microsoft products (Teams, Word, Outlook, Excel)
(D) (A/I) Working Knowledge of Council Tax and / or Business Rates
(E) (A/I) Experience of explaining difficult or contentious procedures to other people
Qualifications / Training

(E) (A) 4 GCSE’s Grade C or above including Maths and English or equivalent
(D) (A) Vocational qualification (NVQ or equivalent) in Customer Services or a finance based subject
