Data Protection

Under the terms of the General Data Protection Regulations and the Data Protection Act 2018, an individual is entitled to ask the Authority for a copy of all the personal information which it holds about him/her for the purposes of providing services to the individual. The information, which the individual is entitled to receive from the Authority, includes a description of these purposes, recipients to whom the data are disclosed and sources of the data. This entitlement is known as the “Right of Access to Personal Data”.

Once you have submitted your request, we will write to you requesting proof of your identity. The information will not be provided until your identity has been verified.

We will use the information provided by you to process your request. The basis under which the Council uses personal data for this purpose is that this is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest by the Council or in the exercise of official authority vested in the Council.
